The MGH/McLean Psychiatry Residency Program trains the next generation of physician leaders in clinical care, research, education, administration, policy, and advocacy. Residents gain broad exposure to the full spectrum of psychiatric services at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital, as well as in community settings that serve diverse and specialized populations. Expert faculty provide outstanding teaching, supervision, and mentorship. Residents pursue individualized learning plans that reflect their unique interests and goals. Most engage in longitudinal programs focused on research, medical education, psycho-dynamic psychotherapy, and global and community psychiatry. The program is deeply committed to training a diverse physician workforce that promotes health and social equity. We also prioritize resident wellness and foster a close-knit, highly supportive learning community.
