The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is fully accredited (five-year) by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The three-year program, beginning at the PGY-2 level, is committed to education, maintaining a 1-to-1 Resident-to-Attending ratio and providing exposure to diverse clinical cases. At the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, residents get extensive training in both the in-patient and out-patient environments, and significant hands-on training with electrodiagnostic testing, Botox injections for treatment of spasticity, baclofen pump refills, and peripheral joint injections. Residents graduating from the program have given definitive feedback that they gained significant medical knowledge, clinical and procedural skills during their training, and have had great success in obtaining fellowship positions and employment after graduation. The PM&R Program also offers two ACGME accredited one year Fellowship training positions, one in Brain Injury Medicine and the other in Pain Medicine.
