The Urology Residency at UT Southwestern is a 5-year program. We accept 5 residents per year for clinical rotations at UTSW-Clements University Hospital, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas VA Medical Center, and John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. During a combined 20-week outpatient/research block in the PGY-3 year, residents are encouraged to pursue a research and/or QI project germane to their own interests and career plans. Approximately half of our graduates pursue fellowships. We currently have 30 faculty members and 13 full time APP’s, all of whom interact with our trainees. As the only Urology program in North Texas, we are the primary referral center for all advanced Urological care in the region. We also offer fellowships in FPMRS, MIS/Endourology, Pediatric Urology, Urologic Oncology, and GURS.
