Dermatology Residency Program · Bellaire, TX
Our program is one of the larger dermatology programs in the USA. There are 25 full-time salaried faculties (plus additional volunteer faculty), 21 residents, one research fellow, one or two dermatopathology fellows, and a surgical fellow. We have an extremely rich population of patients in a city listed as the most diverse in the country. There is a strong emphasis on skin cancer treatment, complex medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and dermatopathology. Exposure to cosmetic dermatology is also higher than most programs. The residents are busier and see more patients than the average program. Residents rotate through the MD Anderson Cancer Center, often ranked as the number one cancer center in the US. They also attend clinics at the UT Physicians practice and the county clinic at LBJ hospital. The teaching conference schedule is highly organized, with some conferences held jointly with Baylor College of Medicine.
