Anesthesiology Residency Program · Gainesville, FL
The UF Anesthesiology Residency Program is committed to developing and training the future leaders of our specialty. Our program hones outstanding clinical skills and provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning that prepares our residents for success in any practice setting. As a tertiary referral center for the Southeast, UF Health Shands provides our residents with a diverse case mix with challenging comorbidities. The collegial learning environment includes TEE/TTE training, superb training in regional anesthesia, and a unique “Transition to Practice” rotation for PGY4s that simulates private practice. Most of our residents meet ACGME case minimums early, providing flexibility for elective subspecialty rotations during the PGY4 year. We support our residents with a generous professional development allowance, conference presentation sponsorship, society memberships, licensure, and performance incentives. Residents are encouraged to participate in or lead research and patient safety and quality initiatives. Our department is also home to a number of world-class clinical fellowship opportunities, and many of our residents continue their journey with us once they’ve completed their residency.
