The Emory University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has one of the most dynamic residency programs in the country and provides both excellent clinical training as well as opportunities to develop as an educator and researcher. Emory offers diverse clinical training and residents have rotations in a variety of settings including Emory University Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, and the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Residents are able to individualize their training starting early in the residency and the program attracts a diverse group of residents with a variety of interests. The residency training program holds psychopharmacology and psychotherapy with equal esteem and top-notch education is offered for both. Formal residency tracks are available and include research, psychotherapy, and global and population. A wide range of clinical and research electives are available beginning early in the program. All ACGME-accredited fellowships are available.
