The Pediatrics Residency Training Program at Elmhurst Hospital Center is an ACGME-accredited categorical 3-year program established in 1939. Currently approved for 13 trainees per year, the Program has prepared hundreds of residents to care for children as both general pediatricians and subspecialists. Serving the most diverse community in the United States, the Program rests on the foundation of a rich and challenging clinical experience. As the major center for pediatric care in the borough of Queens, New York, Elmhurst Hospital Center sees more than 120,000 pediatric visits each year in its outpatient, subspecialty, emergency, neonatal and inpatient services. Under the longstanding sponsorship of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the Pediatrics Residency Program has flourished, offering trainees many opportunities for patient care, research and teaching through the resources of Elmhurst Hospital Center and the Mount Sinai Health System.
