NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, in partnership with the Weill Cornell Medical College's Department of Psychiatry, offers a four-year residency training program in adult psychiatry. The primary training sites are NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center, Lincoln Hospital, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Residents care for patients from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, spanning every age group and every type of clinical problem. Our department has a large and distinguished faculty of more than 160 full-time and 400 voluntary members. They form the foundation of our training program, providing a breadth and depth in clinical psychiatry, scholarship, and research. Residents learn a sophisticated approach to patient care and intellectual inquiry, integrating phenomenological, biological, psychological, and socio-cultural viewpoints. We foster a supportive, inclusive community—promoting self-awareness, personal growth, cultural sensitivity, and enthusiasm for learning.
