The Pediatric Residency Program at Prisma Health/USC SOM Greenville offers residents an almost 50:50 balance of inpatient and outpatient experiences, blending academic tertiary care and community-based primary care within the same program. From the day our interns arrive, we want the residency program to feel like a family. This starts with an approachable faculty that our residents come to know on a first name basis, giving them direct access to training and mentorship in over 30 pediatric subspecialties as well as leaders in medical education, advocacy, and global health. Prisma Health Upstate Children’s Hospital and clinics see more than half a million visits per year, and Greenville residents gain comfort with both bread-and-butter peds and those rare zebras. Our curriculum is designed to be individualized to our residents career paths with early exposure across the range of pediatrics to help make these decisions.
