Allegheny Health Network Graduate Medical Education Consortium – AGH Neurological Surgery Residency Program is part of the Allegheny Health Network hospital system. AHN consists of eight hospital facilities and clinics primarily serving Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and New York. The AHN Neurosurgery residency program is a 7 year training program accepting 2 residents per year with the primary focus on training residents to become clinically and surgically independent neurosurgeons. The educational curriculum focuses on clinical, didactic, and surgical training. The academic schedule is diverse with faculty and resident driven lectures including M&M, Neuroscience Grand Rounds, case presentations, focused board preparation lectures, basic neuroscience lectures, research involvement, and the Bio Skills lab and lectures in our state of the art Center for Surgical Arts. We offer 3 CAST certified advanced training fellowship programs in Functional Neurosurgery, Neurosurgical Oncology, and Complex Spine Surgery. The fellowship programs are available to enfolded residents or post graduate physicians interested in pursuing dedicated advanced subspecialty training. In addition to the robust curriculum, we offer educational courses several times throughout the year in Spine, Endoscopy, Skull Base, and ENT, involving invited esteemed teaching professors from across the country and complimentary resident participation.
