The Emergency Medicine Residency at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital is a 3-year program emphasizing dynamic, high-energy training within a supportive, family-like environment. With over 50 board-certified faculty (many with specialized training in pediatric EM, critical care, addiction medicine, EMS, US, medical education, toxicology, pain management, geriatrics and more), residents receive comprehensive education and clinical supervision to build a strong foundation in emergency medicine. The program offers progressive responsibilities at our primary clinical site, which includes a busy Level 1 Trauma Center and an ED handling around 84,000 patients yearly, 17% of whom are pediatric. Residents gain experience in various additional environments, including our urgent care centers, Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, and St. Christopher’s PICU, enhancing their ability to treat a diverse patient population. Graduates have secured competitive positions in both community and academic settings, with 42% pursuing fellowships in the last 5 years.
