Family Medicine Residency Program · Norfolk, VA
Ghent Family Medicine Residency Program is located in Norfolk, Virginia, on the campus of Eastern Virginia Medical School. Supporting eight residents per PGY class, the program provides access to top-rated hospitals and a Patient-Centered Medical Home-certified continuity clinic, preparing our trainees for careers in all aspects of Family Medicine. The residency offers a hybrid community/academic training experience, while featuring clinical education with experienced faculty in a collegial atmosphere. Our resident-led hospital service teaches inpatient care utilizing a multidisciplinary perspective. GFM was recently approved to participate in an ABFM/ABFMD pilot for programs wishing to innovate curricula; our academic schedule redesign creates a block system for clinical rotations, allowing full immersion for our family medicine residents into those experiences. We offer competitive salary and benefits, including an education fund and leave time. Norfolk is part of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, providing affordable living and a high quality of life during residency.
