The Department of Neurological Surgery is proud to be affiliated with Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, the oldest medical school in the United States. Our neurosurgeons take pride in educating the next generation of physicians. Over 150 neurosurgeons have completed residency training at the Neurological Institute since its inception in 1909 and have gone to become department chairmen and presidents of national neurosurgical societies.
