Radiation Oncology Residency Program · Dallas, TX
The mission of the Radiation Oncology Residency at UT Southwestern is to train our residents in the most advanced techniques and technologies in clinical treatment, to master the principles of multidisciplinary cancer therapy, and to contribute to the art and science of our field. Our residents work alongside radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and molecular biologists to care for over 200 patients daily. In addition to comprehensive clinical training, residents engage in meaningful longitudinal research experiences with protected time and funds allocated to attend national meetings and conferences. We also have the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Holman Research Pathway that allows residents to dedicate even more time solely to research. Additional learning opportunities are available through tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences, and visiting professor lectures. Expert-led technical education programs, such as SBRT/SAbR, GammaKnife and SpaceOAR, supplement residency training. Our department is actively growing; in April 2017 we opened a 63,000-square-foot radiation oncology building and are on schedule to open a 70,000-square-foot expansion in fall 2021. Our affiliated hospitals are located within the Southwestern Medical Center District.
