As the only training facility in Greater Twin Cities, residents in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota enjoy a diverse and deep educational experience by rotating through the University of Minnesota, Hennepin County Medical Center, and the VA Medical Center. Graduates feel extremely prepared to enter either subspecialty fellowship training or comprehensive ophthalmology positions after obtaining superior training in their clinical and surgical education from leaders within the field of ophthalmology. The department creates outstanding opportunities for and expects trainees to perform research, publish, and present at national conferences. Opportunities to interact with fellows and medical students rounds out the rich educational experience of a team-oriented approach to patient care.
