The Ophthalmology Residency at Michigan Medicine aims to train leaders in ophthalmology. The program offers extensive education in comprehensive ophthalmology with broad exposure to subspecialty training. Residents have dedicated time, mentorship and funding for scholarly pursuits including global ophthalmology. With customization in training, residents can pursue career goals in a strong collegial atmosphere as part of a team in state-of-the-art facilities at Kellogg Eye Center and the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. The program also includes in a joint internship with the Department of Internal Medicine with three months of training in eye care. Seven residency positions are available each year.
