The Thoracic Surgery I6 Residency at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is a six year ACGME accredited program. The program has a strong clinical and educational experience. The curriculum is designed to allow the resident to function in progressive levels of responsibly until they are able to perform thoracic surgery independently and obtain certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. The mission of the Northwell Health system is to deliver the highest quality of clinical care for our community, to educate future generations of healthcare professionals and to actively search for new advances in medicine through biomedical research. We boast an experienced cardiothoracic team and have been recognized for our patient outcomes and innovations. With a robust volume and patient mix we are able to offer diverse training with a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to patient care that promotes education, safety and compassionate care. All team members are imbued with the spirit of excellence, safety and pride.
