The University of Maryland / Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program is designed to train residents to be exceptional psychiatrists. Our program provides comprehensive in-depth training in all aspects of psychiatry at diverse training sites in a collaborative, collegial and supportive environment. Over the course of the training program, each resident cares for a wide range of patients in a variety of settings. The educational value of caring for our diverse patient population is enhanced by intensive supervision, a comprehensive didactic curriculum, and case conferences. Our graduates have succeeded in all areas of psychiatry in part due to the depth and breadth of our training program and the strength of our many fellowship programs. Between our core and elective rotations, our faculty members' breadth of experience, and our diverse training sites providing exposure to all aspects of psychiatry, we offer one of the most comprehensive psychiatry training programs in the country.
