As home to the Department of Pediatrics of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Nationwide Children’s Hospital trains the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric specialists. During the three-year Pediatrics Residency Program, residents receive training in primary care pediatrics, adolescent medicine, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, community medicine and pediatric emergency medicine. Additional ambulatory electives include child advocacy, child abuse and international health. Residents’ day-to-day learning takes place during didactic experiences such as inpatient teaching rounds, board exam simulation exercise, small group discussions, case presentations, online modules developed by our faculty and formal didactic conference series. Research is supported and encouraged during residency, and every resident who is interested in research has ample opportunities to explore. One of the five largest pediatric hospitals in the nation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has once again been named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospital Honor Roll.
