Our mission in the University of Michigan Department of Urology is to train leaders and the best among the next generation of urologists. Our world-class faculty are committed to education at all levels while providing outstanding patient care and pursuing breakthroughs in scientific discovery. Currently ranked the #8 urology department by US News & World Report and #3 in NIH funding, we continually strive for excellence in urologic care. Features of our program include high surgical volume with 40+ clinical faculty; robust didactics with both onsite and offsite training labs; emphasis on scholarly activity with a research curriculum to supplement collaboration among renowned leaders in basic science, health services, and surgical education research; option to match into a 6-year surgeon-scientist track with 1 year of protected research; and focus on physician wellbeing, camaraderie, and a team approach to providing quality care.
