We are an up-and-coming residency training program located in Baton Rouge, LA. Our residents benefit from our commitment to education over service as well as our individualized approach. We have excellent training facilities to include a dedicated psychiatric emergency department, 69 licensed inpatient beds, a robust CL service, and a well-staffed resident clinic. We value the role of psychotherapy in the treatment of people with various mental health concerns and give emphasis accordingly in our training. Our residents gain experience with a diverse population and see patients in prisons, homeless shelters, their homes, community treatment settings, sober living communities, and of course our hospital with its growing system of care. Our faculty is approachable and focused on teaching. Opportunities for research are plentiful and we offer a research concentration track. Baton Rouge is home to the LSU fighting tigers, as well as lots of good food, art and cultural events.
