Family Medicine Residency Program · Miramar Beach, FL
Residents receive a broad experience in family medicine to prepare them to attend the fellowships of their choosing or work in any environments of their choosing after graduation. The program prioritizes developing competence to deliver high quality outpatient care to a panel of patients, especially the underserved. Residents have many dedicated family medicine clinic rotations in each academic year to maximize continuity with their patients and learn the skills necessary to be effective leaders of patient-centered medical home teams. During all three years of training residents have longitudinal experiences in women’s health, procedures (including point-of-care ultrasound), health systems management, behavioral medicine, and underserved medicine. Residents will NOT take in-house call during all three years of training. Why? Because we don’t have to and we want residents to spend time outside of the hospital and clinic nurturing personal relationships, enjoying hobbies, and recharging. A happy physician is a better physician
