Within the backdrop of Lake Michigan, NorthShore University HealthSystem and the University of Chicago (NorthShore) Internal Medicine Residency Program has been training resident physicians for nearly 80 years. Our long-standing affiliation with the University of Chicago creates an academic program in the setting of a welcoming, community-based environment. We will ensure that you have the skills and tools you need to be comfortable in any setting that you choose to practice, whether that is in the clinical inpatient or outpatient realm, or in an academic or research environment. Here you will find outstanding internist and specialist colleagues who have a passion for teaching and who provide compassionate care for a rich diversity of patients. Program highlights include training experiences in the Grainger Center for Simulation, outstanding facilities and ancillary support, a formal mentorship program, team-based care with Magnet recognized nursing staff, excellent fellowship matches, and a commitment to advanced technology. All of this occurs in an environment of support, collaboration, and camaraderie.
