Our program’s mission is to educate residents to thrive as future academic internists and specialists who excel as clinicians, educators, researchers, scholars, and leaders in their fields. These goals align closely with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s mission: To provide extraordinary care, where the patient comes first, supported by world-class education and research. We have designed a curriculum that allows all residents to thrive, personally and professionally, as they prepare for their future careers. At the same time, we tailor our Internal Medicine training program to the needs and career goals of each trainee, so that every graduate is poised to become a leader in their chosen area of medicine. We offer formal tracks in primary care, global health, research, and medical education. Additionally, all residents participate in an innovative QI/Patient Safety curriculum. As a major Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, we have the resources to launch your career.
