Morgan Medical Center Primary Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Medicine physician—preferably with fellowship training in Sports Medicine—to join our hospital-owned outpatient practice. This role offers the best of both worlds: the opportunity to provide full-spectrum primary care for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, while also incorporating a focus on non-operative musculoskeletal care, injury prevention, and active lifestyle management.

The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a team-based environment and has a special interest in serving active individuals, student-athletes, and community members with sports-related or orthopedic concerns.

This is a Monday through Friday, outpatient-only position with no hospital call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide full-scope primary care services to patients of all ages—from pediatrics to geriatrics—in an outpatient clinic setting
2. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including common musculoskeletal injuries and sports-related issues
3. Perform comprehensive physical exams, including pre-participation sports physicals and return-to-play evaluations
4. Utilize diagnostic tools and procedures relevant to sports medicine, such as joint injections and point-of-care ultrasound (if trained)
5. Develop individualized care plans and educate patients on wellness, injury prevention, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices
6. Collaborate with physical therapy, orthopedics, athletic trainers, and other specialties to ensure integrated musculoskeletal and primary care
7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
8. Participate in value-based care programs and quality improvement initiatives (e.g., MIPS, PCMH, HEDIS)
9. Provide supervision and mentorship to advanced practice providers and clinical staff
10. Participate in school partnerships, community outreach, or sideline coverage for local athletic events

Qualifications

1. MD or DO from an accredited medical school
2. Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine
3. Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Georgia
4. DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
5. Commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care
6. Proficiency with EHR systems

Work Schedule & Environment

1. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible scheduling available)
2. Outpatient only—no hospital call or inpatient rounding
3. Support from experienced nursing staff, care coordinators, and practice leadership
