Locums OB Hospitalist in California with in house 24 hour laborist coverage and a manageable average delivery volume. You will cover Labor and Delivery plus ED consults.
Highlights
- up to 8 shifts per month, structured as 24 hour in house laborist shifts
- Emergency privileges available for providers with a clean background
- Average 1 to 3 deliveries per day, occasional higher volume days up to 6
- Backup available from the other OB group in town when needed
Practice Setting
- Inpatient coverage for Labor and Delivery and ED, including emergent GYN consults
- Patient population includes adolescents through adults
- Supported by hospital staff, with coordination between OB groups for backup coverage
- Coverage need is due to staffing coverage
Schedule
- 24 hour laborist shifts
- In house call coverage, 7a to 7a
- Target coverage is 8 shifts per month
- Start date target is early November/December 2026
Cases and Procedures
- Vaginal deliveries and C sections
- D and Cs, ectopic pregnancies
- Emergent GYN cases, must be comfortable performing emergency GYN procedures
- Coverage includes ED and Labor and Delivery department needs
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- California medical license required, will not wait for license
- DEA required
