Join Allina Health’s Expanding Colorectal Surgery Program
Allina Health is seeking a fellowship-trained Colon and Rectal Surgeon to join our growing Oncology Service Line in the eastern Twin Cities metro. This new 1.0 FTE colorectal surgery position was created in response to strong surgical volume growth and increasing demand for comprehensive colorectal care.
You’ll practice at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and affiliated specialty clinics—delivering high-impact care in both community and quaternary hospital settings.
Key Position Details:
As a Colorectal Surgeon with Allina Health, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team within a nationally recognized cancer program. This is a unique opportunity to focus exclusively on colon and rectal procedures, with no general surgery responsibilities.
You’ll collaborate with leading specialists in surgical oncology, urology, plastics, and orthopedic oncology, while being supported by experienced APPs and a robust cancer care infrastructure. Your scope will include colorectal cancer and benign disease, screening colonoscopy, and diagnostic endoscopy, with opportunities to explore subspecialty interests.
- 100% Colon and Rectal Surgery – no general surgery coverage required
- Rotating call in surgical oncology or general surgery (estimated less than 1 in 4)
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE role with structured 5-day schedule:
- 2 clinic days
- 1 OR day
- 1 day for scopes (either split or full day)
- 1 day of admin time
- Practice locations: Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis) and Allina specialty clinics across the west metro
- Strong infrastructure with access to 50+ ORs, 6 Da Vinci robots, and the region’s premier comprehensive cancer center
- Robust APP support (1:1 or 2:1) to enhance clinic and surgical efficiency
- EPIC EMR integration across all practice locations
- Practice alongside specialists in surgical oncology, urogynecology, plastic surgery, and general surgery
