Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director for its Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program. This leader will guide all aspects of program strategy, curriculum development, accreditation compliance, faculty engagement, and resident education. The Program Director will foster an enriching, mission-driven learning environment that prepares residents for excellence in clinical practice, academic medicine, and leadership across the PM&R specialty.
The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth is an ACGME accredited, community-based, university-affiliated program offering up to six positions per post graduate year. The program emphasizes a well-rounded, rigorous educational experience, combining individualized learning, diverse clinical exposure, and a focus on patient-centered rehabilitation care.
The primary training site is the hospital’s 66 bed CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility, which includes specialized programs in Stroke, Brain Injury, and Spinal Cord Injury, located in the Fort Worth Medical District. Residents also train at affiliated partner institutions, including Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, John Peter Smith Hospital, Cook Children’s Hospital, and numerous outpatient subspecialty clinics—ensuring broad exposure to the full continuum of rehabilitative care.
The program benefits from an academic affiliation with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, offering extensive research opportunities and access to a modern simulation lab. The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, effective care transitions, and high quality outcomes, preparing graduates to serve as competent, independent physiatrists who are deeply committed to improving patient function and long-term recovery.

Qualifications Required • MD or DO with Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. • At least 3 years of post residency clinical or academic experience. • Eligible for full medical licensure in the State of Texas. • Working knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards. • Previous leadership role held within a residency program (e.g., Associate Program Director, Core Faculty leadership position, Committee Chair, or equivalent).
