  • Hospital Medicine Solutions is seeking an experienced and dedicated Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician to join our healthcare team. As a specialist in both pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with complex respiratory and critical care conditions. This position offers an opportunity to work in a community healthcare environment, providing high-quality care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

    • Inpatient / Outpatient hybrid position
    • Monday-Friday (office hours)
    • No nightly call responsibilities
    • Start Date: ASAP

    York Hospital is a non-profit community hospital located in York, Maine. It serves the southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire regions. The hospital offers a range of medical services including primary care, emergency care, surgery, imaging services, laboratory services, and specialized medical care in various fields such as cardiology, oncology, orthopedics.     Department(s) Overview:

    ICU: 5 Beds

    • Rounds in ICU in the morning (AM)
    • Transitions to the outpatient clinic in the afternoon (PM) with a reduced patient load
      • Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider Coverage (7am-7pm, daily)
      • Pulmonary and Critical Care Telemedicine physician takes nightly call from 7pm-7am (no HMS physician call responsibilities)

    Pulmonary Clinic:

    1. Census: 15-20 patients/day
    2. Staffing Model (Mon-Fri)
      1. 1 Advanced practice provider (dedicated to sleep medicine)
      2. 1 Pulmonary Critical Care Physician
    3. Procedures: Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Thoracentesis

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Board Certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care (sleep is a plus)
    • Interested in helping grow the Pulmonary and Critical care service-line
    • Procedures preferred (outlined above)

    Pulmonary and Critical Care Responsibilities:

    The Pulmonary and Critical care physician will be responsible for managing the patients in the ICU and supervising the critical care advance practice provider dedicated to the service. Additional responsibilities include:

    • Overall management of patients on critical care unit
    • Team collaboration and leadership
    • Clinical decision making and collaboration with the critical care advanced practice providers
    • Collaborate and participate with quality improvement and safety initiatives
    • Professional development and collaboration (nursing staff engagement)

    $355-375k

    Additional $25k quality bonus opportunity
