The Division of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to provide care for pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease as well as young adults with congenital heart disease. The ideal candidate will have advanced training and expertise in Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS). This faculty member will play a critical role in the growth and development of the pediatric heart failure and transplant program, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver state-of-the-art care to children with complex cardiovascular disease.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide care in UM satellite and Jackson Health System pediatric cardiology outpatient clinics, the Jackson Main Hospital emergency room, Jackson Main Hospital inpatient wards, and in the intensive care units (neonatal, pediatric, and cardiac) at the Holtz Children's/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
- Contribute to the perioperative evaluation and management of infants, children, and adolescents undergoing cardiac (heart) surgery and/or cardiac catheterization and will provide consultation for hospitalized and ambulatory patients.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for children with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease with ventricular dysfunction, and post-transplant management.
- Serve as an attending physician for the Pediatric Heart Failure, Transplant, and MCS service, including ECMO and VAD patient management.
- Participate in candidate evaluation, selection, and listing for pediatric heart transplantation.
- Collaborate with pediatric cardiac surgery, critical care, and transplant anesthesia to optimize patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
- Provide consultative support for complex cardiac cases in the PICU, NICU, and general pediatric units.
- Contribute to clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and academic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, including transplant selection, and morbidity/mortality reviews.
- Support program development in areas such as transition-to-adult-care pathways, and outreach initiatives to referring centers.
- Participate in research and other scholarly activities, including collaboration with other pediatric subspecialists is strongly encouraged.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO degree (or equivalent) with completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship.
- Additional fellowship training or equivalent experience in Pediatric Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation required.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Florida (or applicable state).
- Board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Experience with ventricular assist devices, ECMO management, and multidisciplinary team coordination strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.
