Job Duties:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is seeking applications for a BC/BE Endocrinologist to join a comprehensive academic program with the potential to create a unique clinical practice. This position offers protected time for opportunities to engage in teaching, mentoring, and clinical research at a world-class university. Current and incoming faculty enjoy a compensation package that is not based on wRVUs.

UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of Endocrine diagnostic procedures and comprehensive care including, but not limited to, thyroid FNA, bone density scans (DXA), diabetes education program, state-of-the-art continuous glucose monitoring, inpatient Diabetes Management Service (DMS) team, multidisciplinary pituitary clinics, and multidisciplinary polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) clinics. This position will provide patient care at Eastpark Medical Center and other University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics approved locations as a member of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Additionally, this position may have a presence at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital when on inpatient endocrinology service. The responsibilities of this position will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other appropriate services.

  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

  • Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor or Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor or Professor (CHS) or Associate Professor (CHS) or Assistant Professor (CHS).

Required Qualifications:

  • WI medical license by start date of position.

  • ABIM Board-certified or board eligible in endocrinology by start date of position.

  • Billable Provider/Hospital Privileges Required; must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by start date.

  • Completion of a US internal medicine residency and endocrine fellowship by the start date of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT or CHS Track.

Education:

MD or DO, or equivalent is required

Compensation: Negotiable, 12 month Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and sick leave; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits.
