Patient Safety Officer & Associate Medical Director, Hospitalist Services

Valley Medical Group is seeking a physician leader to serve as Patient Safety Officer and Associate Medical Director of Hospitalist Services, with an active adult hospitalist practice.

This senior role partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Hospitalist Chair to lead patient safety strategy, High Reliability and Just Culture initiatives, and system-wide quality efforts, while also supporting hospitalist operations and frontline care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enterprise patient safety and quality initiatives
• Chair the Medical Staff Patient Safety Committee
• Oversee root cause analyses, safety events, and regulatory readiness
• Maintain an active hospitalist practice
• Collaborate across clinical, nursing, and executive teams

Qualifications

• MD or DO, board certified in Internal or Family Medicine
• Experience in patient safety, quality, or hospital operations leadership
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards
• CPPS, CPHQ, or related advanced training preferred
