Position Overview

SSM Health is seeking a **Nurse Practitioner (NP) ** to join our well-established Gastroenterology practice in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. This role offers a unique opportunity to maintain a balanced outpatient and inpatient GI practice in a single location, with no call requirements and a predictable weekday schedule.

The GI clinic and hospital are located in the same building, allowing for seamless coordination of care. This position is ideal for an Advanced Practice Provider who values clinical variety, teamwork, and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient Gastroenterology management
  • Evaluate and manage new and established GI patients
  • Participate in inpatient rounding as part of a collaborative care team
  • Coordinate care with GI physicians, nursing staff, and support teams
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices

Practice & Schedule Details

  • FTE: 0.9 (4 days per week)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday during typical business hours
  • Call: None
  • Practice Mix: Primarily outpatient with occasional inpatient coverage
  • Location: Single site – clinic and hospital in the same building

Education

  • Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing, or
  • Education equivalency that meets licensing requirements

Experience

  • 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner, or
  • 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting

Licensure & Certifications requirement: Wisconsin

Required

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Multi-State License or
  • Wisconsin RN State License

  • And Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
  • And ONE (1) of the following:
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPBC) – ANCC
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Adult) (ACNPC) – AACN
  • Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNPBC) – ANCC
  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNPBC) – ANCC
  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGNP) – AANP
  • Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANPBC) – ANCC
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNPC or FNPBC) – AANP or ANCC
  • Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP or ENPBC) – AANP or ANCC
  • Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (GNPC) – AANP
  • Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHNPBC) – NCC
