  • The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, is expanding its program. We are seeking a neuro-geneticist.

    • The neuro-geneticist will join nine full-time Movement Disorders specialists, four neuropsychologists, two psychiatrists, four neurologist fellows, one full-time genetic counselor, a physician-assistant and an advanced practice nurse on the downtown campus to support our mission focused on Patient Care, Research and Education.

    • The neuro-geneticist will participate in outpatient clinics and multi-disciplinary programs, such as the new Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), which is a collaborative center with the Department of Pediatrics.

    • Primarily an outpatient program with clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and sees approximately 8,500 adult and pediatric patients annually.

    • Eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher at Rush Medical College; faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.

    • This position will be predominantly clinically focused, with opportunities for research collaboration and educational initiatives.

    Program Overview (Rush Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program):

    • Rush University holds several Centers of Excellence designations and is the longest existing movement disorder program in Chicagoland.

    • An inpatient movement disorder consult service is staffed by neurologists and run by movement disorder fellows.

    • Fellows, students, residents, and videography are integral parts of the program.

    • Opportunities for involvement in clinical research, leadership within the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), neuro-genetics program building, and supervision of residents and fellows are also available.

    Required Qualifications:

    • M.D. degree • Licensed in the State of Illinois

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology

    • Strong commitment to patient care, resident education, clinical medicine, and research

    • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical institution

    • Board-eligible or certified in Neurology

    • Valid IL medical license or ability to obtain licensure

    • Strong commitment to patient care, resident education, clinical medicine, and research

    Compensation Details

    $213-290k

    Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
