Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our hospital-employed Emergency Department team. This opportunity offers strong clinical support, consistent coverage, and the ability to practice in a community-focused emergency medicine setting. Emergency Department Highlights
- Annual ED volume: ~30,000 visits
- 12-bed Emergency Department
- 24-hour physician coverage (two 12-hour shifts)
- 24-hour APC coverage (two 12-hour shifts)
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions
- Provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care in a moderate-volume ED
- Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialty consultants
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
- Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Current New Mexico medical license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment
- Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
