Permanent Telepsychiatry Position

This is an on demand 24/7 service for patients presenting in the emergency department or admitted to the medical floor where the patients' attending puts in an order for a psychiatric consult.  Duties could range from recommendations on disposition, recommendations for medication management, recommendations for involuntary holds. The client typically writes recommendations only, but has a select few locations where they write holds, write admission orders for the on-campus psychiatric unit, or write medication orders. Note of importance, they do not write any mediation orders upon discharge and require that the provider have a doc-to-doc conversation to discuss the patient evaluation and next steps prior to writing any medication orders. Onsite support is site dependent.

Typically, the bedside team will consist of patient's nurse and/or social worker as well as the attending physician. Providers are expected to see patient assigned to them during the course of their shift. The expectation is an average of 1 patient per hour which includes reviewing the necessary patient chart information, pre-call to the designated bedside team member, video consult with the patient, documenting in the patient chart, closing the loop with on-site team (preferably a doc-to-doc).  

Florida Psychiatrist will currently be at 36 facilities within 6 different health systems across 7 states. California Psychiatrist will currently be at 73 facilities within 9 different health systems across 7 different states.
