  • The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) is recruiting a full-time, neuromuscular medicine-certified neurologist with a subspecialty interest in ALS research and care.

    Position overview

    • 30% effort dedicated to neuromuscular clinical research within an established clinical and translational research program
    • Collaborate on clinical trials, biomarker development, and other academic projects with neuroscience physicians and researchers
    • Provide outpatient services at the University campus and community clinics, including:
    • ALS multidisciplinary clinic
    • General neuromuscular clinic
    • EMG
    • Neuromuscular ultrasound
    • Limited inpatient call coverage
    • Opportunities to teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows
    • Candidates with neuromuscular research experience, existing funded research, or advanced research degrees (MD PhD, MD MPH) are encouraged to apply

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Neurology residency
    • Board Certified or Board Prepared (ABMS or AOA)
    • Completion of a Neuromuscular Fellowship
    • Eligible for Minnesota medical license and DEA certification
    • Meets credentialing and privileging requirements
    • Strong teaching and interpersonal skills
    • Not eligible for applicants requiring a J-1 visa waiver

    Compensation and benefits Base salary: $218,757 – $344,326, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE Clinical salary through M Physicians; University salary based on academic effort Total salary market competitive based on AAMC benchmarks Benefits at both University of Minnesota & University of Minnesota Physicians
