Hematology/Oncology Physician (Locum Tenens – Outpatient Only)

Contract Duration: March 2026 – March 2027

Pay Rate: $350/hour

A healthcare organization is launching a new outpatient Hematology/Oncology service line and seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology physician for a full-time locum tenens assignment. This role is 100% outpatient with no call, no weekends, and no hospital rounding. The patient population consists of adult and geriatric patients. EPIC is the EMR used.

Job Responsibilities ➜ 🩺

• Manage outpatient Hematology/Oncology patients (50% Hematology / 50% Oncology)
• Perform bone marrow biopsies
• Manage VAD/CV catheters
• Participate in Tumor Board
• Participate in management of bone marrow transplant cases
• Order diagnostic tests, imaging, and coordinate with blood bank
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans
• Oversee or participate in chemotherapy administration (physician & nurse oncologist)

Qualifications ➜ 🎓

• Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
• Active Indiana Medical License or IMLC with LOQ in hand
• BLS Certification
• Experience with adult and geriatric oncology
• Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient clinic

Working Hours ➜ ⏰

• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekends: None
• On-Call: None
• Hospital Rounding: None

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Bone marrow biopsy proficiency
• VAD/CV catheter management
• Strong diagnostic and clinical judgment
• Ability to work independently
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience participating in tumor boards
• Understanding of chemotherapy protocols and administration oversight

• Rate: $550/hour
