Bariatric APP with Banner University Medicine in Phoenix, AZ

Banner - University Medicine Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Center is actively expanding our MBSAQIP nationally accredited program. The program started in 2015 and is growing quickly with a focus on expert care in the medical and surgical treatment of obesity for adult and adolescent patients. Our multidisciplinary team offers highly personalized service and state-of-the-art care. The foundation of our program is built on providing both group and individualized patient education. Our team has experience with more than 5,000 bariatric surgical patients.

Excellent opportunity for a dynamic Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team of highly trained Bariatric Surgeons at Banner University Medicine in Phoenix, AZ. This position will support the comprehensive care and management of the Bariatric patient. Our APP will round on patients in the hospital and see patients in the clinic. Qualified candidates must have the ability to work in a collaborative environment; one that thrives in a highly integrated and innovative setting; and a desire to focus on patient excellence.

Qualifications:

• Board Certification as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of AZ
• Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substance
• Open to all applicants; new graduates and experienced APPs are encouraged to apply
• Current BLS & ACLS
• OR/Procedure experience preferred; experience in Gastrointestinal Medicine, Bariatric Surgery and/or Medical Weight Loss preferred

Position Details:

• Inpatient/Outpatient position
• Mon - Friday within the hours of 7am to 4pm; option for flexible schedule (4/10 hr. shifts)
• Provide care from the initial patient point of contact to pre-surgical requirements, and post-op follow-ups
• No Call
