About The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease

The Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin and Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMC) is seeking a full-time pediatric cardiologist to serve an acute care cardiologist to support our rapidly growing team within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease (TCPCHD) a collaboration between UT Health Austin (the clinical practice of Dell Medical School) and Dell Children’s Medical Center, which was recently ranked No. 10 in the nation for Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery in the 2025-26 U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals rankings.

About The Pediatric Acute Care Cardiologist

The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care, leadership, and innovation alongside our team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers. Although patient care is our primary focus, education and research are also encouraged and supported with access to dedicated research professionals including a statistician, research manager, and research coordinators. Our practice is located in central Austin, providing inpatient and outpatient support for all of central Texas and beyond.

The position encompasses responsibilities in patient care, administration, program development, safety, quality and access for imaging services. This position will work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and the leadership of the TCPCHD to execute on yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care: safety, quality, patient experiences, access, and stewardship. Routine patient care will include: Management of intermediate and acute care cardiac patients, inpatient consultation, supervision of advanced practice providers, hospital service, and some outpatient clinic.

  • Interested individuals should be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology and able to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care cardiology and a focused interest in the inpatient setting.
  • Preference will be given to those with experience at higher volume centers and demonstrated leadership roles.
  • Additional preference will be given to those with previous experience or education in medical administration and those who have clinical research experience.
  • Eligible for faculty appointment at The University of Texas at Austin.
