Practice Setting

• Inpatient setting at a Maryland-based facility
• PA team fields initial consults before involving the physician
• Adult patient population only
• Established cardiac surgery team

Schedule

• Choose from 24-hour call shifts (7a–7a) or 12-hour call shifts (7a–7p)
• Assignments available monthly — you choose the weeks that work best for you
• No long-term commitment required
• Block scheduling supports strong work-life balance

Procedures and Cases

• Required: Bypass surgery
• Common cases: Open heart, carotid, and occasional lung cases
• Average of 1–3 cases per day
• Average admissions while on call: 1–3 per 24 hours

Requirements

• BC/BE within 5 years in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery or Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery
• ACLS and ATLS required
• MD license or active IMLC LOQ
• Minimum of 24 months of relevant experience

• Streamlined 30-day credentialing process
• Start as early as July with proper documentation
