GI Hospitalist-Indiana

This locum tenens assignment in Indiana is a perfect fit for a GI Hospitalist seeking part-time coverage that offers a great work-life balance with a week- on/week-off schedule. We're looking for a physician to provide ongoing support due to a long-term permanent search.

Highlights:

• Block scheduling is available with a week-on/week-off model
• Only 1 week per month is required in 2026, so you can choose dates that work for you
• Bread and butter GI cases—no EUS/ERCP required

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient GI Hospitalist model at a 170-bed community hospital
• Admissions are required
• Pager call coverage with 2-3 phone consults per day

Schedule:

• Scheduled clinical hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., followed by pager call
• Ongoing need for short-term coverage
• Weekend coverage is required as part of the block schedule

Procedures and Cases:

• Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and foreign body removal
• Lower GI endoscopy with colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy
• Liver biopsy is required for this assignment

Requirements:

• Must be board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
• Must be licensed in IN or open to IMLC Physicians
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required

Credentialing Requirements:

• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days
• Must have a clean NPDB and no outstanding medical malpractice
