Locum Tenens Electrophysiologist (EP) - 1 week a month

We are seeking a Board-Certified Electrophysiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Tennessee. This is a hospital-based role with a structured schedule that includes weekday coverage and one weekend of call per month. The position offers strong APP support and a consistent inpatient procedural volume.

Coverage & Schedule Details

• Coverage Needed:
• 1 week per month (Monday–Friday, hourly coverage)
• 1 weekend of call per month
• Weekday Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Some variation based on inpatient service needs
• Call Requirements:
• 1 weekend per month
• Weekend call runs Friday 6:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
• Includes some general cardiology coverage

Practice Details

• Setting: Predominantly hospital-based inpatient coverage
• Department: Electrophysiology
• Support Staff: 1 Electrophysiology APP assisting with hospital-based services
• Patient Volume:
• ~15 inpatients on service
• 2–3 device implants per day
• Patient Population: Adults (18+)

Procedures & Equipment

• Implantable cardiac devices
• Ablative therapies as needed
• Implantable Loop Recorders (ILRs)
• Cardioversions with moderate sedation

Requirements

• Board Certification: Required – Electrophysiology
• Minimum Experience: 2+ years
• Licensure: Active Tennessee license required
• IMLC: Accepted
• DEA: Required (unless non-prescribing; DEA exemption form may be signed)
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS
