Otolaryngologist – Forbes Best-in-State Employer – Phelps Health

We’re seeking a full-spectrum Otolaryngologist who shares our C.A.R.E.S. values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service.

Position Highlights:

  • Collaborative, experienced audiologists (2), nurse practitioners (3) and physicians (2) currently on staff in the clinic, along with other experienced surgical colleagues

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct holistic evaluations of head and neck symptoms, assessing physical, sensory, communicative, and psychosocial well-being in patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage common acute and chronic ENT conditions (e.g., ear infections, sinusitis, sleep apnea, voice disorders), including minor in-office procedures.
  • Carefully monitor prescriptions (e.g., antibiotics, steroids), manage potential drug interactions, and tailor regimens based on patient age, comorbidities, and procedural needs.
  • Collaborate with nurses, PAs, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists for integrated care, including timely referrals for complex head/neck cases.
  • Offer tailored ENT screenings (e.g., audiometry, nasal endoscopy, head/neck cancer exams) and preventive advice to promote hearing preservation and sinus health.
  • Assess ENT-related daily functioning (e.g., hearing, balance, swallowing), recommend assistive devices (e.g., hearing aids), and advise on safety (e.g., fall prevention in vertigo, voice rest).
  • Explain ENT conditions, treatment options (including surgical), and preventive strategies in clear, understandable ways, using anatomical models or diagrams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified Physician in Otolaryngology
  • Interest or experience in allergy or Inspire sleep system preferred.
  • Experience serving as a collaborating physician with Advance Practice Providers.

Location:

  • This is a full-time position located within a hospital-attached clinic in Rolla, Missouri.
