Summary:

WMCHealth is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Neurohospitalist to join our expanding team of inpatient neurology specialists. This position offers the opportunity to practice at one or more of our network’s hospitals (see below). The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional inpatient neurologic care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the advancement of our clinical, educational, and research missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient neurologic consultation and care for patients with acute and complex neurologic conditions, including stroke, seizures, encephalopathy, neuroinfectious diseases, neuro-oncology, and neuromuscular disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, neurocritical care, hospital medicine, rehabilitation, nursing, and allied health professionals.
  • Participate in resident and medical student education, with opportunities for clinical teaching and mentorship.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and program growth across the network.
  • Participate in call coverage as part of the neurohospitalist team, including weekend and holiday rotations.
  • Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and/or programmatic development in line with departmental goals.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology with demonstrated expertise and interest in the care of neuroscience patients.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted New York State medical license.
  • Strong interest in inpatient neurologic care, teaching, research, and program building.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Experience:

  • Fellowship training in vascular neurology, neurocritical care, hospital neurology, or related subspecialty.
  • Experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center environment.
