OB Hospitalist | 14 Shifts Per Month | Lafayette, Louisiana

Join an expanding OB Hospitalist team in Lafayette, Louisiana, offering a true inpatient-only laborist model with predictable shift scheduling, strong specialty support, and consistent delivery volume. This opportunity provides dedicated time away from the hospital while allowing you to focus on high-quality obstetric care.



Position Highlights

• 100% inpatient OB Hospitalist role with no clinic responsibilities or home call
• Expanding team moving toward a dedicated 24/7 model with two physicians on-site per 12-hour shift
• Manage L&D care, emergent and scheduled C-sections, operative deliveries, ED GYN consultations, and inpatient rounding
• Support from CNMs, L&D RNs, lactation specialists, pregnancy navigators, and daytime APP coverage
• In-house anesthesia, on-site neonatology, and employed MFM support for complex cases
• Approximately 2,500 annual deliveries across the service
• Typical volume of 2–4 deliveries per shift

Schedule

• Full-time schedule of approximately 14 twelve-hour shifts per month
• Rotating day and night shifts, including required weekends
• Fully shift-based model with no call-backs or remote responsibilities after shifts

Candidate Requirements

• MD/DO with board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Comfortable managing L&D, operative deliveries, and C-sections in a high-acuity environment
• Open to new graduates and experienced physicians
• Visa sponsorship considered
