  • Phoenix Children’s Division of Cardiology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our nationally recognized, high-volume Stephen C. Grout Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program. We are the largest ACHD program in Arizona and the state’s only ACHA-Accredited Comprehensive Care Center.

    Our program provides comprehensive outpatient ACHD care across the Phoenix metropolitan area and through outreach clinics across greater Arizona. Inpatient care is delivered both at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and at our adult partner institution, Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center—a major academic center that houses the world-renowned Norton Thoracic and Barrow Neurologic Institutes.

    The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within our multidisciplinary Heart Center team, collaborating closely with ACHD cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and subspecialists across institutions to provide seamless, high-quality care for adults with congenital heart disease.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (NP)
    • National certification in respective area of training
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • 3-5 years prior experience in adult cardiology or ACHD strongly preferred

    General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Independently manage ACHD patients in the ambulatory care setting
    • Participate in daily inpatient rounds and contribute to care coordination for acutely hospitalized ACHD patients
    • Coordinate care for patients undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac procedures
    • Manage post-operative care for patients following cardiac surgery
    • Triage and respond to acute patient concerns and incoming clinical calls
    • Participate in rotating call and weekend coverage as part of the ACHD care team
    • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Phoenix Children’s and Dignity Health
    • Educate and collaborate with clinical team members to promote best practices in ACHD care
    • Support ongoing research, advocacy, and quality improvement initiatives within the ACHD program
