The Huntington VA Medical Center is looking for a Emergency Medicine to join our team. At the Huntington VA Medical Center, our health care teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of veterans, their families, and caregivers.
Duties:
- This Physician is the Emergency Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice.
- The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Emergency Medicine conditions.
- Emergency Medicine physicians assess, evaluate, diagnose and initially treat patients in the Emergency Department with any symptom, illness or condition.
- Emergency Physicians stabilize patients with major illnesses or injuries and assess all patients to determine if additional care is necessary.
- The Physician works as a member of the Emergency Medicine team at the Hershel “Woody” Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital.
- There may be other duties as assigned or required.

Compensation Details
$300-400k
Benefits: * Recruitment/Relocation Incentive:* *Authorized for qualified candidates Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 days paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Subject to change depending on the needs of the service.*
