The Family Medicine Residency Program at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Shadyside (Pittsburgh, PA) is seeking to hire a part-time (0.3 FTE) Psychiatry Faculty or double boarded Family Medicine/Psychiatry member to join our team.
Our Family Medicine (FM) Residency is one of the oldest in the country, having received accreditation over 50 years ago. Our robust residency is growing to a 12-12-12 program. We are the most urban of the UPMC FM training sites, serving a diverse patient population. It is the mission of UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program to develop competent and confident Family Physicians to succeed in all domains of Family Medicine. The UPMC Family Medicine Residency Program offers a robust integrated behavioral health care program consisting of collaborative care, e-consults and in-person psychiatric consultations following a stepped-care model. The Psychiatry faculty member will train Family Medicine residents in behavioral health care within this integrated care model at the point of care and be part of the integrated behavioral health care team discussing clinical care of patients with residents, faculty, therapists, pharmacists, care managers and social workers. The psychiatry faculty member will provide e-consults and in-person consultations and follow-up care with PGY-2 residents on the Psychiatry rotation. They will provide collaborative care for patients with depression including weekly reviews of the Depression Registry with the Behavioral Health Care Manager, as well as provide collaborative care for patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders including case reviews with the Recovery Clinic Care Manager. The faculty member will also coordinate the 4-week Psychiatry rotation for PGY-2 residents and lead the Psychiatric and Behavioral Health curriculum required for residency education and provide monthly didactic teaching. As a core faculty member, this individual will be an integral member in the Family Medicine Residency and will be affiliated with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
Applicant Requirements
Faculty must be graduates of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program and be board certified in Psychiatry or double boarded in Psychiatry and Family Medicine. Applications should consist of a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and two references, including one from the applicant's current residency director, employer or Chair.
