The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Med-Peds at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking an Open Rank Pediatric Physician to provide patient care and teaching duties. The Division of Med-Peds manages patients from newborns to centenarians.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties: The faculty member will be responsible for the management of patients, primarily in the outpatient setting, at the USF Health Med-Peds clinic. Night and weekend call per the general pediatrics’ schedule.
- Teaching Duties: The faculty member appointed will be expected to contribute to departmental teaching programs involving medical students and house staff. The individual will participate in the preparation and organization of new educational programs, as well as participation in university/ college assigned committees. The faculty member will be expected to effectively utilize their clinical practice as a teaching resource. Teaching duties may overlap with assigned clinical time.
- Research Duties: The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research and seek funding for research. Collaborative effort within the Department and the University will be encouraged.
- Assigned to a Chair or other appropriate administrator of a state university. Teach, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or statewide committees.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate, or Full Professor.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in internal medicine / general pediatrics. Must currently have or be eligible for an unrestricted full medical license in the state of Florida.
